Say what you will about LeBron the man — plenty of the bad has been pointed out around these parts before. And feel free to go to town on that bag — Deadspin sure did before Sunday’s Heat-Lakers game, and they're kinda right about its impractically tiny nature, despite our lack of a problem with "man" bags in general. But LeBron James the dresser — that guy has evolved.

There was The Shirt at The Decision, and everything wrong therein. But then came Miami, with pressure on the court, sure, yet also a liberation in how to dress off of it. Whether it was the influence of Dwyane Wade (a man of style in his own right) or simply of a town that encourages flashy sportswear and bold separates, we're not so sure. But at some point late last season, The Chosen One chose to start dressing with flair. There was the natty-blue playoff suit, followed by a longer-than-usual off-season of mostly giving a damn — especially when no one else in the players' union really did — and then of course New York Fashion Week, which you might call LeBron's debut as sartorially unafraid.

So give him all the hell you think he deserves, but it's nice to see a man trying. Specs, top-button, nice jeans that actually fit, and a statement blazer that does not show a disregard for the runways just now. It's all very advanced, and probably courtesy of a stylist, but it sure as hell beats warmup pants and a hoodie. Especially when you go and drop 25 and 13 in Hollywood.
